I know I haven’t been updating. I’ve been twittering instead, and I meant to twitter in addition, so clearly I’ve messed up the plan.

I’m having a little situation that my doctor(s) and I have not yet cleared up as one of the many things that are “nothing,” though we’re definitely on that path. For any friends for whom this is the first they’re hearing of this, and who just looked at those links and worried for me, please be assured that I’m on it, and I’m better informed and hence nowhere near as freaked out as I was about a week ago. Stoic in the face of imagined crises, that’s me.
Work is really busy because it always is at this time, so that’s not helping with anything at all.
I wanted the last post off the front page for various reasons; though I still do not find myself motivated to get on the Obama bandwagon, I know I’m probably going to have to. I just hope the ugliness that will accompany the convention doesn’t sink us all and put a 74-year-old warmonger with a younger but crazier fundamentalist VP in office.

It’s finally daylight savings time, and though many people are bitching that it’s too early for it, I am not one of those people. Perhaps those people have to get up before sunrise now or something. Me, having it be light out after six or so just improves everything. Today I sat in the sun for a little while, and pretty soon I’ll be out geocaching again. It’s eight now and it’s still over 60° outside. There are little buds on the trees, my thermostat’s been turned off—not down, not up, off—for over a week, and during the day I can leave the window open and let Jasper watch the birds.

At various times during the year in years past I may have said I liked summer or fall best. Fuck that. Give me open windows, kites, cherry blossoms, and grass. Give me spring.
