general Despite what my laziness may have implied

we were NOT, in fact, left for dead in a dumpster in Boston.

Working from home feels very strange. I’m not having trouble disciplining myself, and I haven’t had to relegate work to its own (read: tv-free) room or anything, but the little hassles are starting to bother me. I’m really hoping familiarity breeds a lack of contempt as we go on and I learn to take things for granted.

In other news, I had a lovely conversation with some jackass on Stumbleupon yesterday and today. I’ve blocked him, so it’s hard to recall his exact words, but basically he told me if I was going to “try to be clever,” I should “research English grammar” so I could learn to use “apostrophie’s.” I wrote back and said I couldn’t even tell if that was supposed to be a joke. He said no, it wasn’t, and I should “utilise an English dictionary.”

I would like to have a copy of this dickhead’s dictionary, where plurals get apostrophes and “apostrophe” itself has a goddamn i in it. What a complete ass. People like that just piss me off to high heaven. It’s the same as the Silent Kimbly dude telling me dyslexia was an excuse for intentionally choosing to use a nonexistent word and saying it was the American spelling.

It’s simply bad judgment to be pedantic if you’re not actually a qualified pedant.
