general Things I like. Things I do not like.

I like things that come in sets, several of the same thing in different colors especially. Sharpies. Paper clips. Little boxes. Icons.

When my computer is on an hourglass/watch/beachball cursor, and sometimes when it’s just the arrow, or the i-beam, or there’s a progress bar, I like to spend great deals of effort and time to line up the cursor with the title bar or another part of the window or dialog box. I do a similar thing when I’m reading email, where I highlight just exactly the right lengths of text to make nice even areas of colors. It’s difficult to describe without a demonstration.

I like to run my finger over the edges of the pages of whatever book or magazine I’m reading. There’s something about the feel of the pages flipping by. Books are so tactile. It’s difficult to describe without a demonstration.

I like television programs on DVD.

I do not like Metro operators who say “Springful” and “ezzit” instead of “Springfield” and “exit.” Why is English so hard for native speakers to pronounce?

I do not like DC tourists.
