They’re almost all a lot darker than I’d like, but I’ll get used to it.

My favorites are the bike on the beach—that’s in Newport, California—and the bonsai tree. That’s at the National Arboretum. That exhibit is amazing. My parents and I were there last May. You’d think you’d get tired of looking at so many tiny trees, but every one is different. And they’re not that tiny; the one in the photo is about three feet tall. Some are literally hundreds of years old, trained by generations of gardeners in Japan and given as diplomatic gifts to long-gone presidents. Here’s a link to their virtual tour. The tree I used is in slide #35, in the conservatory, but not in their picture. Many of the other photos I took that day are also of trees represented in the virtual tour.
