This one is a beauty! The patina…. omg!

This is a listing for a slightly shorter of the pair that I have, the other one sold. The first picture is of the one that sold.The rest are of the one you are buying.

It is 2 feet and 7 inches tall ! 9.5" wide and 10" deep at the base, at the top it is 3/4" deep.
There are seven columns and eight rows of compartments.
The columns are 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1", 1and 3/8" and 1and 3/4" wide.
All the rows are 3 and 1/2" tall.
The rows are 1and 3/4", 2and 1/2", 3and 1/4", 4", 5", 6and 1/2", 8and 1/2" and 10" deep going top to bottom.

The columns are numbered: 2,3,4,5,6,8 and 10. The the rows are numbered: 10,15,20,25,30,40,50 and 60.

There was a small metal label on the bottom front of the other piece. This one is missing the label. Hamilton MFG, Co. , Wood Goods Steel and Made in USA. This is a a furniture cabinet. Wood spacing material in letterpress is called furniture and the most common sizes are 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 , 50 & 60 picas long. That accounts for the 8 spaces going down. They came in thicknesses of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 10 picas wide. You can still see the numbers on the cabinet. A pica is approx. 1/6 of an inch.

There was an old paper label on the back of the one that sold describing how to care for this display and how not get water onto it so that it does not warp. I will include a picture of it.
The taller one that sold had it's metal label this one does not.

This would be a great addition to your loft or perhaps to store art supplies.

The condition is wonderful, though it shows use over the many years. A few gouges in the wood at the total top towards the back and on the sides. Some scratches on one side and a dark stain run on the other side. Once again the patine is wonderful and will only get better!
