In thirty-five days Lisa and I are going to Bethany Beach, Delaware.
In fifty days Eddie From Ohio is playing at Celebrate Fairfax.
In fifty-three days I leave for my brother’s wedding.
In sixty-three days Lisa and I and probably Cindy and maybe a player to be named later are exploiting my father’s collection of Marriott points.
And in seventy-two days the Sedklisches and the Hartigans and the Prachts and I are spending a week on Hatteras Island.

My desktop background, which you can see there where a sixth Percount should be, is mandolux’s white roses. I cannot recommend his site highly enough; especially if you have a large monitor (as I do) or multiple screens (as I also do), they are the finest free desktop backgrounds available without a prescription.

This post may be jarring after my recent seven in a row of bad news (two about Kurt Vonnegut’s death, three about Virginia Tech, one about income taxes, and one about the recent Supreme Court decision), but I just thought I should post something hopeful.

And nothing says “hopeful” like summer.
