My head has hurt since roughly two weeks ago. With short breaks for sleeping. It does not hurt when I’m in the shower, it does not hurt in the dark (but it’s not a migraine), it does not hurt as much when I’m outside or at someone else’s house (but it’s not Jasper).

There’s no correlation to whether I’m wearing my glasses or my contacts, though it’s worse when I wear neither.

There’s no correlation to whether I’ve taken my Allegra, the one without the decongestant.

The only thing that makes it go away is Advil Cold & Sinus, The Kind From Before Meth, which is ibuprofen plus pseudoephedrine. Even Excedrin, my caffeinated friend, doesn’t do it. Even Lisa’s migraine prescription only knocked it back a bit. Even taking regular ibuprofen plus an Allegra D (which has pseudoephedrine, not the new shit), doesn’t do it. There’s something in the ratio of Advil Cold & Sinus, TKFBM, in those beautiful golden liquid capsules, that does just what my head needs.

I go through about a hundred tissues a day trying to clear my head. After I blow my nose I can breathe perfectly fine, but then it’s stuffed up again in about two minutes. What is in there? This summer has been the worst for my allergies in a long time, probably the worst since the summer of the Florida winter of 1994, when I first moved in with Abby, may she rest in peace. I know I got a cat, I know that’s a big part of it, but damn. Make it stop.

I have two problems, as I see it. One is that tonight I took my last Advil Cold & Sinus, TKFBM. The other is that if this is some sort of sinus congestion thing, shouldn’t this be over by now? Doesn’t congestion, you know, end?

For the record, I also want my cat to stop knocking shit over, and I want my neighbors to stop having “throw things/each other at the wall” parties every night.
