general I made a sandwich

Specifically, I made this sandwich. Pioneer Woman’s Favorite Sandwich.

This is a good, good sandwich. It’s grilled cheese, but it’s real cheeses, not Kraft Singles, and it’s on rye bread, which for some reason I always forget is best for grilled sandwiches, and it has tomatoes in it, which I love, and it has onions in it, which I love. It also has green chiles in it, which is interesting. There’s a very noticeable heat to it. It isn’t spicy at all, and the flavor of the onions is much stronger than the flavor of the chiles, but it has heat, and that’s good. Even the tiny layer of mustard and mayonnaise is noticeable. It’s just a good sandwich.

Instructions are linked above, and always the Pioneer Woman has wonderful pictures of each and every step. My only edits would be to go easy on the onions (I love onions, and I used too many) and to go a LITTLE lighter than she implies on the butter. The sandwich needs the butter, really it does, but you can get the results with less. This sandwich will not be dry.

So I think I ate mine upside down, yeah? But still. SO GOOD. Highly recommended. Will cook again.
